'PUBG Mobile' Rival 'Free Fire' Introduces Hrithik As Playable Character & Their Timing Is Bang On

It's only been a day since PUBG Mobile was banned in India by the government, but the competitors are already trying to get an edge and make a name in the market. A highly popular PUBG Mobile alternative called Free Fire has announced a new development.

The developers have confirmed that they're introducing Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan as one of the playable characters in the game. Yes, you read that right. Players can now play as Hrithik Rohan in Free Fire and drop in on the battle royale game.

It's part of their new "Be The Hero" campaign and there couldn't have been a better time for it. Hrithik Roshan's avatar will be called 'Jai' in-game. “I am thrilled to be a part of the Free Fire universe and my official avatar, Jai, that the team has created, is so cool. I hope that all the players enjoy this unique experience,” said Hrithik Roshan.

This, by the way, isn't the first time we're seeing localized content from Free Fire for India. Garena has also done streaming of esports tournaments in local languages and has also hosted community engagement activities. We've also seen them celebrating local festivals such as Holi in-game.

Free Fire says there's more to come in this campaign and we can only imagine what else they're planning to bring. Perhaps a new character based on some other Bollywood star? Well, we won't be surprised by that.

Free Fire, in case you don't know, is a free-to-play game on Android and iOS, and it looks like a lot of people are planning to switch to either this game or COD: Mobile. Either way, let's just hope that we keep getting good games and relevant content to enjoy.

This gaming mouse has a built-in fan to cool sweaty palms Part 1

I’ll just come right out and say that I don’t really think I’ve ever had a problem with sweaty palms in the 25 years or so that I’ve been regularly using a mouse. But my weather app is telling me it feels like 100°F in Tokyo today, and I am not looking forward to my electricity bill this month, so if I can shift even one percent of the cooling burden from my air conditioner to my PC’s USB port, why not? That’s where Mindshunter’s Zephyr Gaming Mouse comes in. It is, as far as I’m aware, the first ever gaming mouse with a built-in fan to cool your hand. It’s available (and fully funded) for pre-order on Kickstarter now with prices starting at $89 and an estimated shipping date of October. The Zephyr mouse is made possible by a type of design that’s become increasingly popular in the world of gaming mice over the past couple of years. The chassis is heavily perforated with holes, giving it a webbed, honeycomb-style look that comes with a few advantages from a gaming side. First of ...

Will PUBG remain forever banned in India?

Ever since the government took down Chinese apps, comprising the much beloved PUBG over security reasons, the multiplayer game's fans have been wondering if the biggest video game in India will ever make a comeback. The Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) had on September 2 banned 59 more apps including PUBG, in addition to 165 mobile applications banned on two occasions earlier. The ministry in a stern notice said that the said apps were banned in the view of the "emergent nature of threats" as they were engaged in activities which were "prejudicial" to sovereignty, defence and security of the country.
